Layering Pianos

Hello, Hello,

On today's Tobisonics Youtubing, we're going to be looking at how to layer Pianos.

One of the things I like to do when I'm working on a project is to open up a simple piano instrument and work on ideas that way, as it allows me to focus on the music. I was working on something the other day and had a bunch of parts playing through the Halion Acoustic Grand Piano. And I started thinking that they sounded pretty cool as a piano; so I opened the UVI Workstation and UVI's Augmented Piano & Toysuite and got to work on building a piano sound in layers.

In this video, we have a quick run-through of what I did to create the various piano layers. We'll take a look at blending voices, creating consistent spaces with reverb, and working with EQ to finesse and fine-tune the piano sound. Everything you need to know to layer pianos.

If you want to take a look at the full production, that's going to be on my Patreon Site. I go through everything I did step by step in a lot greater detail and with more explanations as to why I'm doing what I'm doing. You'll also get access to the multitrack (midi, Halion & UVI) so you can have a go at messing with the piano part yourself.

My debut solo production "All These Things" is not now! It'd be disco-biscuits if you could take a moment to have a listen 😀
